Forgiveness: A Counselor’s Practical Tips for Pastors

Forgiveness is a topic loaded with psychological and spiritual implications. 30 years of research clearly demonstrates that it can be good for both mental and physical health. Appropriately implemented, forgiveness has an amazing power to heal the hurts we don’t deserve and can’t forget! Our October 31 Bright Tomorrows Breakfast Seminar presenter, Tim Peterson, will be discussing some of the relevant recent research findings and a model for teaching a forgiveness process. He will also share some of the common misunderstandings that discourage wounded people from applying forgiveness and receiving the freedom God offers them.

Learning Objectives:

  • Introduce a model for teaching a forgiveness process
  • Define forgiveness from a Biblical and Clinical perspective
  • Provide four sound reasons to forgive from Science and Scripture
  • Discuss common misunderstandings that discourage wounded people from implementing forgiveness
